What is the venue in Canberra?
The main hub will be at Exhibition Park EPIC on Remembrance Drive. All rides will leave from EPIC, and it will also be the location of the Registration, the Show and Shine, and Breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The Gala Dinner on Saturday evening will be held at the Rex Hotel, south of EPIC on Northbourne Ave. Both centres are linked by tram. Isn’t this the National Scooter Rally?
No
Is it only for Vespa?
Yes, it’s an official event celebrating the brand. It’s for all Vespa – new, old, automatic, geared, modern, classic. If your scooter was sold with a Vespa badge then this event is for you.
I ride a Piaggio made X8, X9, Beverly, Medley, Fly, MP3, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Gilera, Derbi, Scarabeo etc.. Can I come?
Sorry, no. This is a Vespa rally.
Is it only for club members?
Initially, yes. The Australian Vespa Days is organized by the Vespa Club of Australia in association with Vespa Australia, and the Vespa World Club. A large amount of club funds are being expended on behalf of our members, and we’ve placed a cap of 300 on the event. This may change as the event develops. In the meantime we would welcome you to join the nearest local club in your State or Terrirory to immediately access ticketing as a member. The list of clubs and website details are here. Townsville, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane,Gold Coast, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.
What do I get for the ticket?
Access to the whole program as published.
A generous welcome rally pack which will include the unique and traditional metal cog badge.
Access to Show and Shine and all organized events.
Access to all organized ride-outs
A Gala Dinner including 3 course meal, music, awards, and celebration.
Everything else we will throw in as the event develops.
What about classic Vespa?
All Vespa are welcome. Classic Vespa representing the 80 years of Vespa production will be celebrated. We’ll offer a ride for slower vintage Vespa that travel below 80 kph as one of the ride-outs too. Keep watching for updates.
I’m a ‘classic’ scooterist who just won’t associate with modern automatic riders. Should I come?
Probably not.
I’m travelling a long way and can’t bring my Vespa. Can I just attend without my Vespa?
Of course, you are welcome.
Can I just turn up in Canberra and pay for a ticket there?
No. You must have purchased a ticket prior to the event through the ticketing website.
What happens when I register?
Present your ticket and ID (Drivers Licence) so that we know it’s you. You’ll receive your event kit containing information and merchandise. You’ll also be given a wristband to wear to identify you as a ticketed participant. Your ticket is not transferrable to anyone else. We’ll only register a person if they present in person. We won’t be giving anyone’s registration kit or wristband to any third person.
Do I have to wear a wristband?
Yes. Wear the wristband for the duration of the event. It gives you access to all the rides, events, and what your ticket has paid for.
OK I have a ticket. How do I register at the event?
Can I pass on / sell my ticket to someone else?
No, your ticket is not transferable. We’ll only register the person whose name is on the ticket and who presents a driver licence ID. If you cannot attend the event please contact us for a refund.
Will there be a T-Shirt?
Yes, we have a merchandise page and a quality online supplier. Merchandise page
I want to bring my partner to the Gala Dinner, how do I do that?
Your partner needs to be a member. Many of our clubs include provision for partners and pillions.
What are the Ride-Outs?
What happens if I break down?
Check with your insurance company to see whether your policy includes Roadside Assist. If you don’t have it then you can purchase a basic safety policy through Motorcycle Assist Australia for just $59. We’ll be in touch with local towing companies and repair shops prior to the event too. The nearest Vespa dealer and service centre is our very own Motorini Scooters in Canberra.
How many tickets are available?
We’ve planned for 300 tickets. We will advise of any decision to close ticket sales early if the event sells out.
Will the ticket price I paid be refunded if I am unable to attend?
If you tell us up to 21 days prior to event, then we’ll give you a full refund. After this we will have committed all the funds you have given us.
Will there be camping facilities?
Yes.
I am an international visitor and a member of the World Club. How do I get there?
Our international friends in the Vespa World Club are welcome. Canberra airport is a domestic airport with regular links to all major Australian cities and international hubs. We’ll have specific advice for those VWC members travelling from overseas.
Is there the possibility to rent a Vespa?
Renting a Vespa is extremely limited in Australia, and is difficult to arrange. Most rental companies only offer cheap Chinese made scooters. We would recommend that you liaise with your friends and contacts in Australian clubs who may be able to loan you aVespa.
Will there be another Australian Vespa Days in the future?
Yes. We run these every two years to ensure that they are well organized and within the quality parameters of the Vespa World Club. So our next Australian Vespa Days is 2029
